Prof. Lee, New Chair of NMISC
Prof. Jae Sung Lee inaugurated as Chair of the Nuclear and Medical Imaging Sciences Council (NMISC) of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (NPSS), with a term beginning 1 January 2018 and running through 31 December 2019.
The NMISC has oversight of the Medical Imaging Conference (MIC) component of the annual IEEE NSS/MIC. This oversight includes the selection of the conference committees and chairs, the development of short courses and other educational activities offered at the annual NSS/MIC. The Council also provides input to the editorial boards of the Transactions on Radiation and Plasma Medical Sciences (TRPMS) and the Transaction on Medical Imaging (TMI). It promotes medical imaging by nominating members of the Committee for IEEE Fellow status and for various IEEE Awards. It also oversees the nomination and awarding of the Edward J Hoffman Medical Imaging Scientist Award and the Bruce H Hasegawa Young Investigator Medical Imaging Science Award.
