Donghwi Hwang, the first author of the publication "Improving accuracy of simultaneously reconstructed activity and attenuation maps using deep learning" received 2019 Alavi-Mandell publication award from Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

The award is given to JNM authors who were trainees/students at the time their work was carried out and made a major contribution to the completion of the project.
